St Michael’s GAA club have decided to disband their ladies team due to poor numbers attending training.

In a disappointing twist of fate for the club based in Creeslough and Dunfanaghy, their players are now free to join other clubs on loan. St Michael’s will continue to participate in both the ladies’ U-14 and U-16 brackets.

“At a meeting in the clubhouse in our Creeslough pitch on Saturday evening it was decided by board and players that there was insufficient players turning out for training and games to continue to participate in the Division Three League and players are now free to go on loan to the alternative clubs of their choice,” read an official club statement from RPO Paddy Coll.

“I am somewhat disappointed as some girls wiill be participating in the same competition for other clubs who will be delighted to have such talented players. We have sufficient at U-16’s and U-14’s to play in 2013. Thank you to those to put in the effort and sorry we cannot please everyone. Contact me to ensure you are registered to ask to go on loan for the 2013 season.”
