Rosses top after win over Letterkenny Rovers
Rosses Academy defeated Letterkenny Rovers on Saturday to move top of the Northern Section of the Youth League with just four games remaining.
The other game in the section, Swilly Rovers v Illistrin FC was postponed and in the Southern Section, Erne Wanderers made it two wins out of two after a 3-2 victory over Drumbar United, while Drumkeen United and Cappry Rovers played out an entertaining 2-2 draw at St Patrick’s Park.
There are both league and cup action this weekend. In the FAI Youth Cup, Letterkenny Rovers are away to Cockhill Celtic and Bonagee United have home advantage over Cappry Rovers.
In the league, table toppers Rosses Academy are home to Illistrin FC, Erne Wanderers host Drumbar United and Drumkeen United travel the short distance to play Ballybofey United.

Rosses Academy moved clear at the top of the Northern Section of the Donegal Youth League after a 2-1 victory over nearest rival Letterkenny Rovers on Saturday afternoon.
Ben Boyle’s men took the lead after just 10 minutes when centre half Patrick Gillespie scored from close range. With both defences playing well, no more goals were scored in the first half.
Rovers made three substitutions early in the second half and they were rewarded with an equaliser when one of the subs, Dale Gorman, scored direct free kick 20 yards out.
Shortly after this Rovers chances were dealt a blow when their centre forward Marty Vance was shown a straight red card for an off the ball altercation.
Rosses capitalised on the man advantage and won the game with 15 minutes remaining when Hugh Boyle scored a glancing header past Rovers net minder Chris O’Donnell, to put the Keadue men three points clear at the top.
