Reid to serve 12 week ban

Red Hugh’s manager and former Donegal All-Ireland defender Donal Reid is going to have to serve a twelve week suspension imposed by Donegal disciplinary officials.

Red Hugh’s manager and former Donegal All-Ireland defender Donal Reid is going to have to serve a twelve week suspension imposed by Donegal disciplinary officials.

The ban was imposed by the Donegal CCC, after the Red Hugh’s manager was reported by referee Eugene McHale for allegedly verbal abusing the official at the end of the junior championship game with Naomh Ultan in Dunkineely on July 8th.

Reid has failed in his bid to have the ban overturned after unsuccessfully appealing the ban to both the Donegal Hearings’’ and Ulster Hearings Committee.

While he has the right to appeal the suspension further to the Central Hearings’ Committee, he has confirmed to the Donegal Democrat that he has no plans to appeal the matter any further.

It is understood that the ban does not affect his involvement as physio with the Donegal senior team.
