St Michael’s joined Kilcar and Naomh Conaill in second place on the Brian McCormick Sports Division One League table with a nine point victory over Ardara at Pearse Park on Saturday night.

Colm McFadden scored 11 points and Ciaran ‘the Rock’ Gallagher hit the goal as St. Michael’s proved too strong for their hosts with a power packed display once they got over their early lethargy.
Ardara were the better side in the early exchanges and led 0-4 to 0-1 after 12 minutes with the razor sharp Gareth Concarr posting all four points to just one from Colm McFadden. Concarr ended the game with a personal tally of seven points.
Gallagher’s goal at the end of the first quarter was a game turner as St. Michael’s took complete control for the remainder of the half and went in 1-6 to 0-4 in front at the interval.
With the wind in their sails St. Michael’s with Martin McElhinney, Christy Toye, Michael McGinley, Ciaran Gallagher along with McFadden scoring the points, cruised to victory.

Sean MacCumhaill’s 0-5
Calum Gallagher hit two goals and Pauric McDaid posted six points as Naomh Brid turned on the style against Sean MacCumhaill’s in Trummon on Saturday night.
This was a totally one sided affair and was as good as over as a contest at half-time with Naomh Brid in complete in control.
However the win came at a price. County man David Walsh suffered a hand after injury ten minutes into the game and was forced to retire.
By that stage Gallagher had struck for the first of his two goals, the county minor slamming to the MacCumhaill’s net when a 45 dropped short. And when he added his second five minutes later Naomh Brid were on their way and MacCumhaill’s were in shock.
With the locals rampant and Pauric McDaid knocking over the points Naomh Brid had 2-4 on the board before Darren McGowan opened the MacCumhaill’s account.
Further points from McDaid and Darragh Brogan saw a rampant Naomh Brid lead 2-9 to 0-3 at half-time with Benny McLaughlin and Steven O’Reilly scoring a point each for MacCumhaill’s.
With Naomh Brid continuing to dominate any remote hope of a revival went when Dermot McCafferty got down well to deny McLaughlin from the penalty spot midway through the half.
McDaid with two points and Gallagher rounded off the scoring as the locals eased to an easy victory.

Red Hughs recorded their second successive home win. It was tight early on but Red Hughs lead at half time 0-5 to 0-2.
Further points extended the home side’s lead early in the second half to five points but Burt reduced the lead to two midway through but the locals pulled away again for a good three point victory. Damien Browne, Martin Bonner, Calvin Bradley and Ryan Kelly were the Red Hugh scorers.

Naomh Padraig came from four points down at half time to win by six against Moville in Lifford on Saturday night.
In what was an evenly contested encounter Emmett Patterson’s goal in the middle of the second period was the turning point and set the locals on their way.
