NA ROSSA: The under 16 squad qualified for the County Final after defeating Buncrana in Letterkenny last Monday evening. They will play Glenfin in the final after they had a narrow win over Naomh Brid.
The seniors lost out to Milford at the weekend in their latest league match.
Well done to Jim and his Donegal squad on retaining the Ulster championship from all at Na Rossa. Club members who are looking to book tickets for the All Ireland quarter final should contact club secretary Pat Boyle ASAP as orders have to be in by the weekend.
NAOMH ADHAMHNAN: Well done to Rory Kavanagh and the Donegal team on Sunday’s performance to defeat Down in the 2012 Ulster SFC Final in Clones. Kevin Rafferty was forced to miss this year’s final once again through injury.
The Seniors and Reserves have no game this weekend with their League schedule nearly completed. The Juniors also have nearly completed their league programme and at time of writing there was no fixture available.
The U21 Championship game scheduled for Tuesday night (24th) against MacCumhaills has been postponed for a couple of weeks.
The Minor footballers will now move into a county semi-final in this year’s league competition scheduled for this Friday, July 27th with their opposition still to be determined from Kilcar or Aodh Rua, Ballyshannon.
The U-14 boy’s footballers defeated St. Michael’s in the Championship on Monday night. They take on Naomh Conaill in the League Final on Wednesday night in Ballybofey, throw-in at 7:30pm. All support would be welcome.
The Minor Board are provisionally scheduling a meeting for next Thursday, August 7th at 7pm in the Clubhouse. A confirmation e-mail will be sent as well as details on Facebook.
The U16 Hurlers had a one-point win over Burt in the League in a game where neither side were ever more little more than a point apart. There is no U16 game this Thursday so training for U16 Hurlers will be held in O’Donnell Park at 5:15pm instead.
The U12 Hurlers had a narrow loss away to the Four Masters in the League. Details of the game this Thursday will be given at training.
Congratulations to Conor O’Grady and Caoimhin Lennon who were on the U15 Co Donegal Hurling team that won the Peter O’Keefe Memorial Tournament. The won all their group games and in the final against Roscommon came from a four point deficit to equalise with the last puc of the ball and went on to win in extra time.
Both Academies will return this week after a break last week, Hurling & Camogie at 6:30pm on Friday and Football at 11am on Sunday.
The historic 1992 All-Ireland Senior Football Championship winning team are holding a Gala Reunion in Donegal Town on Saturday night, August 18th. Tickets are available from Paul Carr and can also be purchased from the Mt. Errigal Hotel. The event will be hosted by broadcasting legend Micheál Ó Muircheartaigh and Highland’s Charlie Collins.

NAOMH BRID: All roads lead to Pairc Naomh Brid this coming Sunday for our Celebrity Bainisteoir match against St.Marys Rochfortbridge. Gates open at 1pm and the match starts at 3pm. Lets get the Green and Black flags flying high around the parish this week in support of Pippa and the boys.
A large crowd is expected so come early to get a good spot and there will be parking available in the field across from the pitch. Bring all your friends and family and cheer the boys on to what we hope will be victory.

This Saturday sees Killybegs hosting three neighbouring teams from Ardara, Kilcar and Glen in an under 10 blitz. This will be the team’s first home blitz of the season and we hope to see a large number of parents and supporters come along to support our young players. The first games will commence at 11am. ST MICHAEL’S: Congratulations to Jim and the boys on retaining the Anglo Celt Cup by defeating Down in the Ulster Final in Clones on Sunday last creating history by being the first Donegal Team to win back Ulster Titles and also to be the first team in Ulster to win both from the preliminary round.
It was great to see four St. Michael’s players on the team at the end of the match Colm McFadden, Christy Toye, Daniel McLaughlin and Martin McElhinney, with McFadden, McLaughlin and McElinney all getting on the score sheet. St. Michael’s players Antoin McFadden and Peter Witherow are also part of the panel.

Unfortunately a number of people were inconvenienced on Monday last when they turned up for Cul Camp and it was not running. This was due to a wrong date for the camp been shown on the webstite www.kelloggsculcamps.ie.
The correct dates were advertised in the local press and on posters locally and despite the best efforts of the local coordinator to get the dates on the website changed through official channels this was not done. The local coordinator does not accept any responsibility for this unfortunate occurrence.

Donations of €500 are been sought for the Centre of Excellence in Convoy. This will be an important asset for the future of success of future county teams. Anyone interested in helping with the future of the Donegal GAA should contact any club member.

Congratulations to the Naomh Conaill U-12 A and B teams that claimed titles in the Division 1 and B Competitions. In Division 1 they overcame a spirited Dungloe in a high scoring match Naomh Conaill 5-12 5-06 Dungloe. The B team defeated Killybegs in their final Naomh Conaill 0-06 1-01 Killybegs. Well done to everyone involved.
Good luck to U-14 team in the County Division 1 league final tonight Wednesday in Mac Cumhaills Park when they take on St Eunans at 7.30pm.
The minor team begin their championship campaign next Wednesday 1st August when they play Naomh Mhuire at home at 7.30 in the quarter final first leg.
The third team are in a playoff game in the championship this Sunday in Letterkenny at 1.30pm when they play Naomh Padraig Muff.

In relation to the Club 200 draw, there is one month left in the present draw. The 5th of August will be the 12th draw for this series. As we would hope to be in a position to commence the building of the new Club House in February/March 2013 the Club propose to continue with the €200 Club.
We would appreciate if the existing members would advise of their willingness to continue in this draw. We would also appreciate new members as we have vacancies at present.
The Martello Adventure Race will take place again this year as part of the Mary from Dungloe festival. The event will take place on Saturday 4th of August 2012 at the Maghery community centre.
This year the event will include categories for under 12’s, and under 16’s as part of a mini triathlon with reduced distances starting at an earlier time of 1pm, the senior event will start at 2.30pm where a new revised 5km route using a natural loop around the Maghery grave yard over to the beach finishing at the center will take place.
TIR CHONAILL GAELS: The senior team got back to winning ways last Sunday against Parnells in a league match at Northwick Park. The opening 30 minutes was some of the best football the team has played all year with a scoring total of 3-11 to 0-3.
Goals from Ciaran Boyle, Eoin O’Neill and Benny O’Reilly were some of the highlights in a half were some outstanding link play throughout the team was quite brilliant.
Nobody was prepared for the second half which saw a collapse from the Gaels and seen the teams switch roles as the Parnells dug deep and took control. Best on the day were Dean Gordon, Mark Gottshe, Eoin O’Neill and Barry Mitchell. TCG 3-14 Parnells 2-12
This weekend the senior team play Round Towers in round 2 of the championship. The junior team play St Anthonys in the league on Wednesday evening 7-30pm at Reading, and then they will play Shalloe Pearses at the weekend in the championship. The ladies team are going from strength to strength after another fantastic win at the weekend over Tara in the Junior championship.
After beating Clonbony in the opening round this result has left the girls in a great position to progress to the semi finals.
The first half was a tight affair but the girls really turned it on in the second half with fine performances from Jenny Dillon, Mary Flaherty, Hayley Hoare, Carol Mc Nicholas, Fiona Morrissey and the superb Anne Marie Mc Gill. TCG 6-10, Tara 1-2

Well done to the Under 14s who played a very exciting Shield Final against Round Towers at Ruislip on Wednesday evening. Both teams played some great football with top class skills on show and excellent scores taken.
Towers looked to have pulled clear in the first half but TCG pulled back to a two point half time deficit scoring two goals just before the break from Daniel O’Connor and Brendan Rice. The Towers added a few more scores early in the second half and once more the young Gaels responded well to stay in touch, with goals from Conor Callaghan and another from Brendan Rice.
With the game in the balance a pointed free from Kieran McManamon put the Gaels ahead for the first time but with the clock running down it was the Towers youngsters who reacted best moving the ball quickly to the other end and scoring a good goal.
In the dying minutes Round Towers added another couple of insurance points which took the game out of the Gaels reach. SEAN MacCUMHAILL’S: Under 10’s took on St Eunans and Buncrana In a Blitz on Saturday in O’Donnell park, with a few key players missing they put up a valiant display with Thomas McMenamin and Daniel Gordon along with pete Byrne were the outstanding players for the A’s and Amy McGuirk and Catherine Gallagher shining for the B’s a great display by all. The highlight of the day was the drenching of Minor board chairman John Burke by the youngsters.
Congratlations to Donegal on thier second ulster championship although our own Martin O’Reilly didnt feature our neighbours own Frank McGlynn played a man of the match performance and scored a well deserved goal. Hopefully Jim and the coaching staff can take us all the way

NAOMH COLUMBA: Hard luck to our ladies, who exited the championship on Friday evening last, losing out to Naomh Pádraig of Lifford in the return leg. Our senior men enjoyed a good victory over Na Dúnaibh on Saturday evening to retain their position at joint top of the table. We travel to Burt this Saturday, reserve game set for 6pm and senior at 7.30pm.
Our third team are due to host Mc Cumhaills on Sunday, with a 3pm throw-in at Páirc na nGael. In underage news, our U-8s enjoyed a very successful home blitz on Saturday morning, winning the A category, while Ardara won the B category.
Our minors were unlucky to lose out Bundoran in Wednesday’s divisional final. They now face Red Hughs in the county semi, which, at the time of going to press, was set for Thursday evening, venue TBC.
Our U-14s enjoyed another comprehensive championship victory on Wednesday evening, with an away win over Naomh Bríd. Our under 21s will kick off their championship campaign with a trip to Downings next Monday evening, July 30. Throw-in set for 7.30pm.

LETTERKENNY GAELS: The seniors and reserves hosted neighbours Naomh Colmcille on Saturday evening last. The reserves were well beaten by the much superior visitors. The Senior game was a much closer affair with both teams playing some excellent football.
The first half goals made sure that the newtown men took a firm grip of the game but both teams gave a quality display. The teams are scheduled to meet again in the reverse fixture on Saturday evening.
The U-14s were defeated by Red Hughs in the championship on Wednesday evening last. Letterkenny Gaels hosted U10 gaelic blitz on Saturday morning with teams visiting from Glenfin, St Michaels and Gweedore.
The U-12 camogie girls travelled to McCumhaills for their league match and came home with the points. Final match is at home to Carndonagh.
Lotto numbers this week are 2,6,10 and 14. Match three winner was Nicola & Eamon Keenan, Friends of the Gaels. Next weeks lotto will be €3,350.

AODH RUADH: On Friday last, three Aodh Ruadh u-16 hurlers represented Ulster against Connacht in Ballyhaunis in the annual tournament between the provinces. Ulster comprehensively won the two games, Colm Kelly Jamie Brennan and Eddie Lynch wore the Ulster jersey.
Date for the diary - the underage hurlers are making their annual trip to Croke Park on the 12th of August for the All Ireland semi final between Galway and the winners of this week’s encounter between Cork and Waterford
Johnny Gallagher and his team “Falcarragh Shamrocks” are back on the top of the leaderboard this week after picking up 45 points (Donegal-35, Kildare-10) this weekend. He is only one point ahead of another former leader, Rory O’Neill and his “Ice Cream Rovers” who collected 42 points.
The next aluminium can collection for recycling to raise much needed funds for Aodh Ruadh takes place this Saturday at 12noon until 1pm at the Park.
The numbers drawn were 4; 5; 11; 12; 15; and 18. The winners were Jimmy McGee, Roscor; John McFadden, Pettigo; Tracy Flood, Ballyshannon; Mary Granaghan, Ballyshannon and Francis McGinley, Ballyshannon. Next draw is in the Lantern on Sunday at 8.30pm.
