Glenswilly 1-8

St Eunan’s 1-15

The Letterkenny side lost John Haran to two yellow cards on 37 minutes but still had the wherewithal to post their third win on the road this season, following victories at Kilcar and Gaoth Dobhair.

The first half was evenly contested with Darren McGinley’s goal, after the wing-foward rounded off a move that included a succession of hand passes with John McFadden and Neil Gallagher involved, on 12 minutes.

That put the hosts 1-2 to 0-3 in front with a pair of Gary McFadden frees making that total. St Eunan’s had scored the first three points of the day with Ross Wherity adding to a couple of Conor Gibbons scores.

Despite the concession of the goal, St Eunan’s continued positively. Austin Marron and Gibbons scored but Glenswilly edged ahead when Barry Molloy and Gary McFadden were on the mark. A pair of frees for Gibbons and Packie Kennedy made for interval parity, 1-4 to 0-7.

St Eunan’s lost the services of Haran as the second half took shape and responded well to the dismissal thanks to scored from Marron and Wherity. Moving Micheal Martin onto Gary McFadden seemed the dry up the ideas of the home team, although McGinley and Caolan Kelly kept them in touch.

Conall Dunne and Marron, either side of a Gary McFadden free, put St Eunan’s two points up, 0-11 to 1-7. However, from then on the O’Donnell Park residents put their foot to the floor.

Seven minutes from time, Peter Devine played in Wherity and he shot beyond Philip O’Donnell for a well-taken goal.

And although Gary McFadden added another free for Glenswilly, four points on the bounce – from Kennedy, Gibbons, Marron and corner-back Conor Parke – completed the seven-point win for St Eunan’s.
