Donal Reid, manager of Red Hugh’s and a member of the Donegal GAA backroom, is facing a three month suspension after being hit with the ban for an alleged incident with a referee at a recent junior championship game.

Reid was cited for alleged verbal abuse and interfering with referee Eugene MacHale at the end of a club

championship match between Naomh Ultan and Red Hughs in Dunkineely on July 8th.

Reid is believed to be appealing the case to the Appeals Committee who are due to hear the case tonight Thursday. The outcome of that appeal will be awaited with interest.

Naomh Ultan won the first leg of the championship game with Red Hugh’s taking the second leg and the play-off is set for this Sunday in Tirconaill Park, Donegal Town.

Meanwhile, the Donegal GAA Competitions Control Committee are awaiting the referees’ reports on two league games which did not go ahead at the weekend. Gaoth Dobhair did not field at home for their Division One game with Ardara while MacCumhaill’s did not field for their home game with Bundoran.
