Finn Harps have added two ‘new’ faces to the squad as the summer transfer window gets ready to open.

Michael Funston and Mark Scoltock are no strangers to Harps fans, having both played with the club before. Both players will be eligible to play from the 1st July onwards, meaning that they will miss next week’s home game against table-topping Longford Town.

Funston, who turned 27 last month, first signed for Harps from Bonagee United at the start of the 2004 season. After Felix Healy’s appointment as Manager in that same year, Funston quickly became a permanent fixture in the side, alongside Anthony Gorman in the middle of the pitch and picked up a First Division Championship medal in his first season at the club. He left the club for Dungannon Swifts midway through the 2010 season, and spent the last two seasons with the Irish League side. A hard working midfield player, Funston likes to get forward at every opportunity and scores more than his fair share of goals. Was the clubs top scorer in the 2009 season with nine goals and is just two games away from 200 appearances in the blue shirt.

Central defender Scoltock made his debut for Harps in a 3-2 defeat against Derry City at the Brandywell in July 2005 under then Manager Felix Healy. The Derry man made just six appearances for the club that season before linking up with Institute where he spent four seasons. Spent 2010 with Derry City where he picked up a First Division winners medal, before returning to Institute last year
