Donegal’s Yvonne McMonagle scored three points as the 2010 Ladies GAA All- Stars defeated the 2011 Ladies All- Star team 4-10 to 3-11 in an exhibition game in the Centennial Stadium in Boston on Sunday.
McMonagle, Donegal’s only ever Ladies All-Star was joined on the 2010 team by replacement All-Stars Ciara Hegarty from Moville and former Donegal player and now of Donegal/Boston, Anne Doherty.
The 2010 team was managed by former Naomh Columba and Donegal goalkeeper Gerard McGill who managed Dublin to All-Ireland senior success in 2010.
The 2011 team was managed by current Donegal manager Micheal Naughton, who guided Donegal to 2010 All-Ireland Intermediate success.
Kerry goalkeeper Edel Murphy was the star of the show for the 2010 team as she saved a last minute penalty after her side had come from ten points down at half-time.
The game was the centre piece of the Ladies All-Star Tour of the US.
