At Monday night’s Ulster Senior League delegate meeting, Johnny McCafferty was elected the League’s new chairman following the recent resignation of long serving chairman, Eamon McConigley.

Former referee McCafferty was a unanimous selection of the delegates and the only candidate put forward for the position on the night. Speaking shortly after his elevation to the post, the new chairman addressed the delegates.

He said: “I am honoured to serve as chairman of the Ulster Senior League and hope that I can add something to the continued success of Donegal’s premier soccer league. I look forward to working with the clubs and my fellow executive members in the months ahead as we endeavour to ensure the continued success of the Ulster Senior League.”
