Donegal GAA officials are to hold the first of a number of information meetings tonight (Thursday) in Burt on the county’s latest fund-raising drive.
The officials, including newly elected chairman of Club Tir Chonaill, Danny Harkin, is the fund-raising wing of the county finance committee. They have been tasked with the responsibility of raising the funds to complete the county’s new Centre of Excellence at Convoy.
The initial target is to raise €100,000 by the end of next month if Donegal are to qualify for Croke Park funding of €250,000.
Danny Harkin and his committee will outline details of plans to recruit 200 people who will donate €500 in a one-off contribution.
The meeting is in the Burt GAA clubrooms and is to cater for representatives from the seven Inishowen clubs and 11 clubs in the East of the county and is timed for 8 pm.
It is the first of a number of meetings that the board has planed for the coming weeks, county treasurer and member of Club Tir Chonaill, Grace Boyle, has confirmed.
