This Saturday morning the Donegal u16s and 17s squads will try and qualify for the finals of their respective competitions with the 16s competing for a place in the Buncrana cup finals and the 17s for a place in the Jim McGuigan Cup finals.
Donegal have been grouped with Derry and Cavan for this Saturdays qualifiers which will take place in Ballyshannon starting at 12pm. Donegal are in group 2. Group 1 includes Fermanagh, Tyrone and Antrim and in group 3 are Armagh, Monaghan and Down.
Each group winner will qualify for the finals with the remaining 6 counties competing against each other with the winners of that blitz going forward to make up the semi final line up.The format is set out as below.
Derry v Donegal 12 Noon
Donegal v Cavan 1.05
Cavan v Derry 2.10
U-16 Buncrana Cup:
The Winner of each Group in the U-16 Section will progress to the Semi & Finals of the Buncrana Cup which takes place on the 11th August
The Winner of each Group in the U-17 Section will progress to the semi-finals and final of the Jim McGuigan Cup which takes place on the 25th August
If Teams finish on level points then aggregate score comes into play (Difference
of For and Against)
If still cant be seperated then Team who scored the most will go through
And if still tied then Team who scored the most Points on the day will go through
The other 6 Counties in the U-16 Section will play on the 28th July and the Winner that day will join the other 3 Winners on the 11th August
