Letterkenny native Cillian Morrison was the toast of UCD after scoring four goals in his side’s 6-1 EA Sports League Cup win against Waterford United on Monday night at the RSC.

The 20-year-old scored a six-minute hat-trick between the 15th and 21st minutes before adding a fourth in the 51st minute. In an excellent personal performance the former Derrry City striker, who also played Gaelic football for St Eunan’s seniors and the Donegal U-21 side under Jim McGuinness in 2010, helped the Students into the next round of the competition. Mark Anthony McGinley from Ard was in goal for UCD.

Morrison, the son of Seamus and Marjorie from Glebe in Letterkenny, will be hoping to keep his place in the UCD team for Monaghan United’s visit to the Belfield Bowl on Friday night.
