Milford Inn Hotel Division One

St Catherines 2

J Noctor (12), S O’Rourke (18)

Donegal Town 0

St Catherine’s kept their promotion hopes going with a 2-0 home win over Donegal Town at Emerald Park.

In the 12th minute a cross from Stephen Leslie saw Jason Noctor rise above the Donegal defenders to head the ball into the net. Eighteen minutes from time, the Saints were awarded a free kick and Shane O’ Rourke stepped up and put the ball into the Donegal net from about 20 yards.

Raphoe Town 1

D Craig (30)

Gweedore United 2

F McGee (22), D Ferry (87)

Raphoe Town will wonder as so often happened this season how they didn’t come away with three points against Gweedore United.

Gweedore took the lead after a good move ending with Frank McGee slotting past Paul Carbury in the Raphoe goals. Raphoe scored on the half hour with David Craig slamming the ball home from close range. The hosts were caught with a sucker punch three minutes from time when Gweedore scored the winner through Darren Ferry.

The third goal came on 70 minutes when a cross from Stephen Molloy was headed to the net by McMillan .Gallagher added a fourth in the last minute

Glenea United Res 1

C O’Brien (30)

Erne Wanderers 1

P Dorrian (85)

Glenea’s hopes of qualifying for the knockout stages were dashed with a 1-1 home draw with Glenea United.

The hosts opened the scoring when, after good work by Sean Coll and Sean Sweeney, Martin Doohan crossed to Ciaran O’Brien and he took the ball around the keeper and slotted home. The home side failed to take their chances and they were made to pay on 85 minutes when Paco Dorrian got on the end of a free-kick to nod home.

Downtown Cup Group C

Tullyvinney Rovers 3

R Laird (28, 50, 70)

Donegal Town Res 2

S Curran (64, J O’Brien (87)

Tullyvinney Rovers and Donegal Town’s Reserves served up an interesting encounter but it was the hosts who cam out on top following a Reece Laird hat-trick.

Christy Martin found Garvan Tinney in the six-yard box and his pass found Laird, who slotted home from close range. The second half saw Tullyvinney increase their lead after Christy Martin was taken down and a free kick was converted with a fierce shot by Laird. Stephen Curran scored with a close range shot for Donegal Town but Tullyvinney restored their advantage after good work by John Harvey and Martin Alexander set up aird to complete his hat-trick.  John O’Brien converted late on after sloppy defending by Tullyvinney.
