Donegal’s Chloe Magee’s European Badminton singles championship ambitions have been put on hold for another year following her exit in Kariskrona, Sweden, yesterday morning (Wednesday).

Magee, who has already qualified for the London 2012 Olympic Games, bowed out at the second round going down 25-23 and 25-6 to Natalia Perminova of Russia.

The world number 42 had begun the championship in impressive fashion with a straight sets 21-9, 21-9 victory over Estonia’s Laura Vana on Tuesday.

She was still hoping for European success in the Mixed Doubles along with her brother Sam. They were due to begin their championship yesterday afternoon.
