Durack is new county hurling manager

Former county hurler and Burt clubman Ray Durack is the new Donegal senior hurling manager.

Former county hurler and Burt clubman Ray Durack is the new Donegal senior hurling manager.

He was ratified in the position at Monday night’s county committee meeting having been interviewed for the job that night.

He replaces his clubman Andrew Wallace, who stepped down in September, having earlier in the summer led the county to a first Lory Meagher Cup senior hurling championship.

He has management experience both with Burt and at county underage level and has managed the county minor hurlers in recent seasons.

The new man is going to have to hit the ground running as Donegal have the first game of the new season in a little over four weeks time. Donegal’s first game in Division 3A of the Allianz Hurling League is away to Monaghan, in Clones on Sunday, February 26th.
