Donegal League club ordered to replace assistant referee’s flag

A Donegal League club has been ordered to replace an assistant referee’s flags after a flag was damaged during a recent Division One game.

Cappry Rovers were ordered to replace the linesman’s flag which was broken during their game against Curragh Athletic on January 8th. The matter was one of a number which came before a recent meeting of the Donegal League’s Disciplinary Committee.

In a separate case, a club was fined €E100 and given a warning by the league’s Disciplinary Committee after it failed to properly fill out a match card prior to a recent game.

Lagan Harps were brought before the Disciplinary Committee because the match card for their Premier Division game against Castlefin Celtic wasn’t signed individually by all the players. Under league rules, each player must sign the match card - but in this instance, the card was filled out by one person.

In another case, Lifford Celtic player, Mark Carlin, was suspended for four games and fined E20 on a violent conduct charge following his sending off against Dunkineely Celtic on December 22nd.

The following cases were also dealt with by the Disciplinary Committee: Marcus Curran (Castlefin Celtic), two-match ban and E20 fine, sent off v Dunfanaghy Town, January 7th; Glenea United fined E20, match card not signed by manager/secretary v Glencar Celtic, January 7th; Seamus Doherty, Cappry Rovers official, two-match ban and E20 fine, v Curragh Athletic, January 8th and from the same game, Jamie Doherty warned of future conduct; Danny McGarvey, Dunlewey Celtic, one-game ban, E20 fine, sent off v Arranmore United, January 15th; Mark Butler, Drumbar FC, two-match ban, fined E20, played against Glenree United while under suspension on January 15th, points to Glenree United; Darren Coyle, Bonagee United, two-match ban and E20 fine, played against Ballybofey Utd. while under suspension on January 8th; Stephen Keeney, Donegal Town, one-match ban and fined E20, sent off v Rathmullan Celtic on January 15th; Kevin Friel, Gweedore Celtic, two-match ban and fined E20, sent off v Castlefin Celtic, January 15th; Ramelton Mariners fined E20, match card not signed by secretary/manager v Cranford FC, January 21st; Shaun Sandilands (manager), two-match ban and fined E20, misconduct charge v Gweedore Celtic, January 22nd; Gary Dunnion, Ballybofey United, two-match ban, fined E20, sent off v Copany Rovers, January 22nd; Thomas Given, Copany Rovers, fined E20 sent off v Ballybofey United, January 22nd.
