Donegal and Cavan will have to wait after Vocational Schools final postponement

The Ulster Vocational Schools final between Donegal and Cavan has been postponed.

The Ulster Vocational Schools final between Donegal and Cavan has been postponed.

The PRO of the Ulster Vocational Schools has apologised over the confusion prior to the postponed final between Donegal and Cavan.

The final was initially due to take place at Brewster Park in Enniskillen on Wednesday night but the pitch was deemed unplayable. The game was, on Tuesday afternoon, moved to Kilress, Co Tyrone, but then news then filtered through the match was postponed.

No date has been set for the reschedule, although Tuesday has been suggested.

“I have to apologise profusely but the Ulster Bank Vocational Schools final originally scheduled for Brewster Park, Enniskillen, and then re-scheduled for Kildress has had to be postponed,” said PRO PJ McGee.

“Alternative venues which were considered were unavailable and it left the Ulster Vocational Schools Committee with no option but to cancel the game and that decision was taken at 7pm (on Tuesday).

“I can only state how sorry we are that this decision had to be made at such a late stage, especially after telling you earlier that it was going to be in Kildress. Believe you me that we did everything in our power to proceed with the game but the poor weather during last weekend was a major factor in the postponement.
