Well done to Zaria Boyle who picked up an award at the Donegal under age ladies presentation night on Saturday last. Zaria who plays for the U1-4 County team was picked as most improved player of the year. The club was also represented by Niamh O’ Donnell U-14, while Sarah O Boyle and Aine Hanlon were part of the U-16 team. The Minor Board held a very successful AGM on Thursday night last, we wish all the managers and their mentors the very best for the new year ahead.

Boxing Day Family Fun Cycle, Walk or Run in aid of Dungloe GAA underage, from novice to the more advanced 10k, 20k and a 40k cycle for all ages. No helmet, no cycle! €10 per adult, €5for child or €20 for a family. There will also be a 5k or 10k walk/run on the day. Registration 12:30pm at Ionad Teampaill Chroine, Dungloe. AODH RUADH: The senior footballers appear to have kicked their last ball in anger in 2011. There will be no football played in December or January, as per county bye-law. With one remaining game, against Burt, yet to be played, and a number of other clubs with unplayed games, division three will not be resolved until 2012.

The U-16s were defeated in their Ulster U-16 championship semi-final against O’Donovan Rossa 1-11 to 0-7.

The Bord na nÓg AGM took place last Saturday with the following appointments being made. Chairman: Shane Toolan (acting, to be ratified); Secretary: Tracey Flood; Southern Divisional Board Delegates: Shane Toolan, Paddy Kelly, Sylvester Maguire. U-6 and U-8 management: Ken Monaghan and David O’Donnell; U-10 management: Gerald McGloin; U-12 management: Sylvester Maguire and Raymond Granaghan; U-14 management: Jim Kane and Barry Ward; U-16 management: Packie McGrath and Peter Gallagher; Under 18 management: Shane Ward and Gregory Sweeney.Colaiste Cholmcille U-15 and a half team are playing Abbey CBS, Newry in the Ulster C final. Aodh Ruadh Juvenile Hurling Committee holds their AGM in Aras Aoidh Ruaidh at 8 pm on Wednesday, November 30. The Aodh Ruadh CLG AGM will take place on Saturday, December 10, at 6pm in Dorrian’s Hotel. Nomination and motion papers have been posted and should be with all paid up club members early this week.

This superb event will see acts, sponsored by local businesses, battle it out to be crowned the best in town.

Three specially selected judges will also be on hand to give their opinion on all of the performances. Tickets are on sale now and are available from Diver’s Newsagents and the Nesbitt Arms Hotel front desk. The club has already earned itself a fine reputation of putting on a show. And if recent and previous nights are anything to go by, this promises to be another excellent night of entertainment. Remember, this event will be ticket only, so act quickly to avoid disappointment.

The Ardara GAA Club is organising a ‘Scrap Saturday’ on Saturday, December 3 and 10. This is where we ask all from the area to bring along any old scrap metal to the GAA Club and we will separate it before off-loading it to a recognised recycling company. Mass for deceased members of CLG Ard a Ratha will be held tomorrow, Thursday, November 24 at the Church of the Holy Family, commencing at 10am. People are reminded that they can recycle their old clothes at the recycling bin at Texaco on the Killybegs Road. A percentage of the proceeds of the clothes bin go direct to the Club Minor Board. Your support would be appreciated.

The Minor Board are taking out a fundraising calendar for 2012, which will include photos of all our underage teams from 2011. The calendars will sell at €10 with all income going towards our underage coaching programmes. Our Minor Board AGM takes place on Tuesday, December 6 in the Heritage Centre at 9pm. Parents are welcome to attend. Our annual presentation disco will take place in the Nesbitt Arms on Friday, December 30 at 7.30pm.

James Harkin was elected chairman of the club this year, Martin Duggan Vice Chairman, Secretary Maire McClafferty, PRO Carmel Curran, youth Officer Kevin Scanlon, Coaching officer Stephen Doohan, Oifigeach naGaeilge Denis Ferry, County Board Delegates are Joseph McGarvey and Seamus O’Donnell, U-21 manager is Joseph McGarvey and Denis Boyle was elected players’ representative. Padraig McMenamin was chosen as a trustee of the club.

FOUR MASTERS: The €50 winners in the Annual Lotto for week 19 were Sean Gillespie, Brookfield and Bartley Mc Glynn, Stranorlar. The numbers drawn were 4, 7, 11 and 24 with the jackpot now standing at €7,700. Members are reminded that they will be entered in a Bumper Xmas Draw in week 22 for prizes to the value of €1,000 if they pay their annual subscription of €100 in full before Monday, December 12.

The senior board AGM will take place on Saturday December 3rd at 8pm in Dom’s Pier 1. The nursery for five and six-year-old boys and girls will continue this Saturday, November 26, at 11am at the all-weather training pitch.

GAEIL FHANADA: Gaeil Fhánada hosted a very successful Dinner Dance in the Milford Inn on Saturday last. Thanks to all who helped organise the night, special guests County Cathaoirleach PJ McGowan who brought the Anglo Celt Cup for the occasion, and Rory Kavanagh. Thanks to the Milford Inn for a splendid meal as always and Francis Diver form Tirconaill Tribune, also all who sponsored spot prizes. Presentations were made to Siobhan Coyle, Senior Ladies Player of the Year, Ronan McAteer, Reserve Player of the Year, Tony McBride, Senior Player of the Year and Ciaran McElwaine, Club Person of the Year, Congratulations to them all on well deserved awards.

The Xmas Bazaar will take place in the Rosnakill Resource Centre on Sunday, November 27, from 5pm. The committee would appeal to all members, supporters and parents to donate suitable items for prizes, homebaking etc, and anyone willing/available to help on the day is asked to contact any member of the committee.

GAEIL LEITIR CEANAINN: The club’s annual dinner dance will take place at the Silver Tassie Hotel on the December 28. Tickets will be available from any of the club executive from early December.

Our underage coaches should note that a coaching course “Building Stronger players” will take place in Glenswilly on Monday night nex, November 28. This course is particularly advantageous to coaches up to U-16 level. Please confirm your attendance with club coaching officer Sean McBrearty. Lotto results: 5, 10, 11 and 13. GLEANN FHINNE: There were no winners in last week’s lotto draw. The numbers drawn were 1, 5, 6, 3, 2, 4 and 7. Cumann Peil na mBan Gleann Fhinne are holding a Grand Christmas Fundraising draw on Sunday December 18. There are 14 prizes on offer with a top prize of €1,000. GLENSWILLY: The lotto numbers for November 21 were 7, 9, 15, 18. Match 2 winner was John Alexander. Next week’s jackpot is €3,180. The senior team defeated Malin on sunday in the Division One relegation play-off, this was an important result for the club, congratulations and thanks to all involved, a job well done score was 1-14 to 0-9. This weekend sees the senior team play Termon on Saturday at the pitch in the final of the Laurence McGinty cup. Both the Donegal Gaeltacht and the Dr Maguire cups will be in attendance for any supporters who would like photographs taken.

Congratulations to Lisa O’Donnell and her Scor team who won the recent county final of the Nuachleas competition and who take part in the Ulster semi-final in December.

The strictly come dancing will take place on November 26 in the Silver Tassie, tickets are available from Hughie and Donal and are priced at €15, show starts at 8pm, a good night is promised so please try to attend. County captain and dancing expert Michael Murphy is part of the judging panel while the one and only Kevin Burke is going to show people how to dance with his two left feet.

MILFORD: The ladies minor team play the county final against local rivals Termon on Sunday at 12pm in Glenswilly. This is the first time the girls have reached the final at this grade and they will go into the match as underdogs against a very strong Termon side who are going for four titles in a row. That said, they can draw great confidence from the manner in which they beat a very good Moville team in the semi-final.

This week’s lotto numbers were: 1, 5, 6 and 15. There was no jackpot winner with one person matching three numbers winning €70. The winner was Peter McGinley, Milford. Next week’s jackpot is €3,060.

NA CEALLA BEAGA: The Killotto had no winner this week. The numbers were 2, 17, 21 and 27. There was no winner of match three numbers. Next week’s Killotto jackpot is €2,800 and Match 3 is €120. Arthur Meehan’s team is selling Killotto this Saturday, November 26, and Conal Molloy’s team is selling on December 3. The Killotto is now online. There was no winner of bingo jackpot. Consolation prizes went to Mairead Gallagher, Cummins Hill, Killybegs. Next week’s Jackpot will be €1,700 on 48 calls.

There is a club meeting on Thursday, November 24, in clubhouse at 8.30. The AGM is fixed for December 30 in the Tara Hotel at 6pm.

NAOMH BRID: There was good news for both our reserve and senior teams at the weekend at home to St Naul’s. In the first game the reserves won Naomh Brid 2-13 St Naul’s 0-12. In the second game of the day our seniors managed to overcome the same opponents. A Pauric McDaid goal midway through the first half helped the boys a 2-8 to 1-8 victory. This win now leaves them in second place and in contention for a promotion play-off depending on how other results go.

The club are hosting a Fashion Show this Saturday night in the Central Hotel. Tickets cost €10 and doors open at 7pm with the show starting at 8pm. Local retails will have their best fashions on show on the night. Anyone with a fashion show ticket will receive a 10 per cent discount on presentation of the ticket at their chosen outlet between November 28 and December 3. The official release of the long awaited Naomh Brid Calender for 2012 will also be launched on the night with pictures of people as you’ve never seen them before. NAOMH CONAILL: The AGM will be held this Friday night at 8pm in the clubhouse.

The Minor Board AGM was held last Friday and the following managers were elected U-8 Martin Doherty, U-10 Martin Smith, U-12 Hughie McGill, U-13 Hughie McGill and Seosamh Mac Ceallabhui U-14 Seosamh Mac Ceallabhui, U-16 Connie Doherty. There was no winner of last week’s lotto. The numbers drawn were 9, 16, 22 and 25. Two prizes of €50 went to Shauna Molloy and Gerry Doherty.

NAOMH MHUIRE: The Minor Board AGM will take place this Saturday evening at the clubhouse at the Banks at 5pm. We would ask all team managers, coaches, senior players, parents and anybody interested in getting involved in the underage setup to come along to the meeting.

The Seniors played Newtown away last Sunday and came away with a hard earned point. The point leaves us in a great position for promotion to Division Two with only Burt that can catch us and they have five games remaining. Unfortunately these games will probably not take place until the New Year.

There is a level one coaching course taking place on Friday, December 2 and Saturday 3 for all coaches who have completed the Foundation level and are ready to move to the next level. The club are organising a follow up ‘Scrap Saturday’ this Saturday, November 24. This is where we ask all from the area to bring along any old scrap metal to the GAA club and we will separate it before off-loading it to a recognised recycling company. The club benefits from this and uses the money raised for forthcoming developments such as the building of additional dressing rooms, improved coaching etc. The public who take the scrap down can get rid of metal which is gathering and by doing so are helping the club and its youth. Items accepted can range from saucepans, kettles, irons, cutlery, empty food/drink cans, radiators, waste electrical equipment, copper, aluminium, lead, bicycles, go karts, lawnmowers, old scaffolding, water pumps, steel beams, stainless steel, old cars, car and tractor batteries, engines, etc The club are seeking out characters for a ‘Night of Jigs and Reels’ which will take place in the early Spring. We are looking for eight men and eight ladies who will under-go expert preparation for what should be a great night. NA ROSSA: The club would like to extend their sincere condolences to the family of Paidin McCahill who sadly died over the weekend. Well done to Michael Breslin who won the first prize of €300 and to Niall McCready who won €100 in the 50 club draw.

RED HUGH’S: There were three winners of the lotto draw last week. The winners were Jean Kelly, Tom Hinton and John Kelly (Dromore) and they receive €35 each. Next week’s jackpot is €1,150. The lotto sellers in the coming weeks are: November 26 - Tony Gallagher, December 3 - Paddy Kelly, December 10 - Barry Bradley and December 17 - Joe Carlin. The winner of the 100+ Club draw last week was Marty Carlin and he receives €100.

The reserves played Naomh Ultan in their final league game of the season on Saturday and despite playing well they lost the game narrowly. Final score: Red Hughs 0-6 Naomh Ultan 0-10.

The final of the underage local league takes place at the pitch this Saturday morning, November 26, beginning at 10am. There will be a medal presentation afterwards to all of those who have participated in this competition in the last few weeks. All children who have taken part are asked to attend. All boys and girls teams from U-8 right up to U-16 will be honoured on the day.

The final of the karaoke competition will take place this Saturday, November 26, in Browne’s Bar and the annual club bazaar takes place this Sunday, November 27, in the Parochial Hall starting at 5pm.

The annual dinner dance will be held in the Villa Rose on Saturday, December 3, with the meal served at 8pm sharp. Tickets are priced at €25. There will be a ‘Night at the Races’ in the Lantern Inn on Saturday, December 10. Everyone is asked to get their horses in as soon as possible.

The junior team play their final league game of the season this Sunday at 2.15pm at the Bridge v MacCumhaill’s. St. Michael’s Lotto: There was no jackpot winner in the St Michael’s Mini Lotto on Sunday night last. The numbers drawn were 5, 6, 9, 13, 17 and 18. The match five winner was Aoife McGinley, Dunfanaghy, who won €100. This week’s jackpot will be €4,450. ST NAUL’S: The club AGM is on Sunday, December 11 at 6pm in the clubhouse with everyone welcome.

The November monthly club meeting takes place this Monday night at 9pm. No joy for either team on Sunday last in Ballintra which means the seniors now need to win the last two games, away to Burt and Naomh Colmcille, to be sure of being in the promotion play off in February or March. Both teams are away to Naomh Colmcille this Sunday in the last games until February. See fixtures section of local papers for throw in times.

The underage presentation night takes place on Friday night week, December 2, at 7.30pm in the clubhouse. This promises to be a great night to reflect back on all the underage competitions during the past year.

The Minor Board AGM takes place on Friday, December 16 at 7.30pm in the clubhouse. This is the most important meeting of the year and we would ask that as many parents as possible attend.

There was no winner of last weekend’s Slotto jackpot, winners of €40 each for nearest to correct sequence were Fr James Sweeney, Ardaghey and Willie Ward, Orbeg. Sequence drawn was 6, 1, 2, 4, 3, 5 and 7. This weekend’s jackpot will be €2,330.

TIR CHONAILL GAELS: The club in association with Bet365 present a poker classic in the clubhouse on Friday, December 2, at 7.30pm. This event has been very successful over the past few years with large attendances and excellent prizes on offer - £3000 in prizes is on offer this year with the winner receiving £500 cash plus £500 in Bet365 betting vouchers, second prize £300 plus £300 in betting vouchers, third prize £200 plus £200 in betting vouchers with fourth to eighth places each receiving £100 cash and £100 betting vouchers.

Entry fee is £40 which includes a free pint and hot buffet, with a buy back system in place. There will also be a blackjack table for the early fallers and the non poker players with a great night’s entertainment guaranteed.

The club would like to pass on our congratulations to the Tara camogie club on their historic victory last Saturday in the All-Ireland Junior semi-final against Myshall from Carlow. This weekend they will contest the final against Inagh from Co Clare in Ashbourne, Meath, we wish Sheila Fernandes and the entire club the very best.

The Minor Club Dinner Dance takes place this weekend where the announcement of this year’s TCG Minor Board Person of the Year will be made. There has been an overwhelming demand for tickets and this promises to be a fantastic social event.

NAOMH ADHAMHNAIN: The Juniors rounded out their season with a good League win over St. Michael’s in the Park. Joe McIntyre scored both goals before he heads off on his travels to South Korea. Oisin Mulgrew, Michael McGrath and Mark Forde also impressed.

Our appeal against the Co. Committee decision on boundaries in Letterkenny will be heard on Thursday night. Hopefully justice will prevail on this occassion.

The Minor Board AGM takes place in the Mt. Errigal Hotel next Tuesday night, November 29th at 7pm. All managers and officers are asked to submit their reports immediately to Tracey McVeigh.

The Senior Board AGM is unlikely to take place until January. Details when we have them.

The U16 Hurlers finished up their season playing a tournament on artificial turf in Breffni Park, Cavan last Saturday. The players played three games finishing with a win against Truagh Gaels of Monaghan. The Minor Board Presentation Night takes place in the Silver Tassie Hotel on Friday, January 6th at 7pm. More details in the coming weeks. Please note that due to the huge amount of success this year, tickets will sell very fast once they go on sale.
