The countdown is on in Australia for Ireland’s first game in the International Rules Series. The first match is set for tomorrow morning at 9.45 (Irish time) at the Etihad Stadium, Melbourne.
With three Donegal players in the Irish panel - the biggest ever Donegal involvement - interest in the two games will be greatly increased. For Neil McGee of Gaoth Dobhair it will be a new experience, while Michael Murphy was involved in the Irish panel last year when Ireland were the hosts in Limerick and Croke Park. Karl Lacey made his debut in the infamous 2006 tie.
Australia were winners of both tests last year, with the final aggregate 102 to 92. Metricon Stadium will host the second Test of the series on November 4. Donegal followers will be watching with interest to see how the trio get on this time around and also keeping their fingers crossed that they return home safe and sound and ready for an assault on Ulster and All-Ireland honours in 2012!
The games are live on TG4.
