Donegal Town B.C Men’s Team begin their journey in the prestigious Intermediate National Cup this weekend when they host Barrow Rovers B.C from Dublin in Donegal Town this Saturday, October 24th.

40 teams from 15 different counties have entered the prestigious competition with the level of Basketball set to be played at an extremely high standard.

“This will be one of the marquee events of our season” said Basketball Ireland’s Secretary General, Bernard O’Byrne.

Donegal Town B.C will be backboned by the recently returned Aaron Coyle from Trinity College B.C and Jordan Carty, who also returns to club colours this season from top Dublin side St.Vincents.

Ardara’s livewire guard Ryan Malley also returns with exciting news that All-Ireland winner and GAA star, Kilcar’s Mark McHugh will sign for Donegal Town B.C this season. Noel Kennedy, formerly of Kilcar B.C, will add to the height and rebounding power of the team alongside Edward Begley and the ever improving Jason Duignan, with talented young college players such as Adam Gallagher, Dylan Kennedy, Oisin Gillespie, Patrick Reid, Brendan McCole, Daniel McSharry and Ronan O’Donnell rounding up what is a very strong squad for this year’s National Cup campaign.

The game takes place this Saturday, October 24th at 7 p.m. in Donegal Town and all support is greatly appreciated, so please come along, enjoy some top level basketball and cheer on your local team.
