The second Annual Streets of Ballyshannon 5k Race Fun/Walk takes place at 2pm on Saturday January 24.
The event is run by Ballyshannon Rugby Club and a permit has been granted by Donegal County Athletics Board.
There will something for everyone from the very serious Runner to the Jogger, Walker or someone wanting a leisurely stroll.
Last year’s event attracted over 150 entrants.
This year’s event will start and finish at the Lakeside Centre where changing facilities are a available.
The race should produce some personal bests as it is a reasonably level course.
Last year’s overall winner was Liam Feely, who is a member of the North Leitrim Athletic Club.
The organisers see the timing of this event as being an ideal opportunity for Couch to 5k and Operation Transformation teams to assess how their fitness levels are progressing since the start of New Year.
For those tackling the Bundoran Cara 10k or 10mile challenges in Bundoran in early March it will also be an ideal event to check fitness levels.
There are prizes for the first three home in main categories plus prizes for veterans over 40, 45, 50 Juniors male and female under 18.
There will be a number of spot prizes for walkers.
Free refreshments will be served after race in the Lakeside Centre.
Registration on the day from 1pm and the entry fee costs €10 for adults, €5 for juniors and €20 for a family of four.
