Letterkenny RFC have been invited to play at the Aviva Stadium this Saturday, the 17th May, in the Aviva Mini Rugby Festival.
They will be one of 20 mini rugby teams from picked from 240 clubs across the country who will get the opportunity to play where their heroes, like Brian O’Driscoll, Peter O’Mahony and Jamie Heaslip, have played.
The National Festival is being held in the home of Irish Rugby, the Aviva Stadium, for the first time and the 20 U-10 clubs from all over the country will be playing against each other in a non competitive and fun environment. This gives the players the chance to develop their skills on a pitch that has been graced by some of the world’s greatest rugby players in the past 12 months.
Former Irish and Munster played David Wallace will be on hand on the day to give his tips and advice to who may be the future stars of Irish rugby. Each of the competitors on the day will receive a certificate of participation signed by Irish Internationals Brian O’Driscoll, Peter O’Mahony and Jamie Heaslip.
David Wallace, Aviva Mini Rugby Ambassador said: “I would have given anything to have the chance to play in this ground when I was in my U10 team. What an opportunity! The Aviva Mini Rugby Festivals should be on every rugby club manager’s agenda to get involved and show your club members that you believe in them and their ability. It’s going to be an amazing day out for everyone involved”.
