A glorious sunny day kick started the Autumn Showjumping League at Deane’s Equestrian Centre last Sunday the 13th Oct.

Lily Wilcox was first to go on Meenarilagh in her first competition, jumping in the starter stakes and going clear which earned her a rosette. Ingid Grolke and Santa were back in action for the 50cm class and picked up a well earned rosette.

There were a few new partnerships as riders were introducing some young horses into the world of showjumping. Brenda Burke on Bonnie Mismatch and Alison Porter on a lovely little cob called Polo in the 60cm class both picking up clear round rosettes. Tierney Gallagher on Choc Chip Dream and Kieran Sharkey on Legend travelled down from Burtonport to earn rosettes in the 60cm, 70cm and 1m classes. Amy McGarvey from Dungloe on Chamonit Super Nova was another new rider and horse pairing and they also went clear on the day in the 80cm class. Martin McGowan on Jacko jumped a lovely clear round in the 1m class. Local riders Charlie and Mona Vial also went clear in the 80 and 90cm classes but were unlucky not to pick up more rosettes on the day.

The Autumn League will run for the next 4 Sundays, with the final on the 10th of November. For further information check www.deanesequestrian.ie or contact Alax on (074) 9737160
