Donegal Town U-15’s enjoyed a fine 10-point win over Derry on Saturday morning on home turf at the Holmses.

Donegal started the match well exerting pressure on the Derry defence resulting in a try after four minutes with Patrick Forde getting in for a try in the corner after some good running. Kevin Woods playing at out half missed the conversion. Unfortunately Patrick Forde was replaced after 10 minutes by John Relihan due to injury.
Donegal continued to press forward and Charlie Boyle crashed over for Donegal’s second try after 20 minutes of play. Donegal were held by the Derry defence for the remainder of this half.

Derry now threw everything they had at the Donegal defence and were rewarded by a try scored by their out half Number 10 who also scored the conversion from a very difficult angle. Donegal put on substitutes Aaron Mc Hugh for Rossa Doherty, Jack Murray for Joe O’Rourke and Lim Smith for David Woods. Donegal responded with a try in the corner scored by Oisin Reid. The conversion was missed.
With only a score in the match Derry now increased their work rate and were again rewarded with a try scored in the corner by their winger number 11. The Conversion was missed. Donegal continued to press the Derry defence and were rewarded with a try scored almost under the post by Kevin Woods after some good running.
The conversion was scored by full back Freddie Cullen. With 10 minutes remaining and the home side ahead by 10 points Derry threw everything they had at the Donegal defence. Donegal repelled attack after attack as Derry chased those elusive scores. Donegal Captain Matthew McClay finished the game when kicked to touch on full time.
