One hundred and twenty cyclists are cycling with the Rugby Legends for Cancer research on a tour taking in the West of Ireland during the next week.

The Legends were joined by rugby club members and rugby supporters for a great evening in Letterkenny before heading off to Sligo on Sunday.

Boyd Robinson presented a cheque to Paul Wallace for €1250 to the Cross charity which was raised during the recent Coastal Cancer Challenge in Dunfanaghy.

The Legends Charity Cycle were one of three beneficiaries from the Coastal Cancer Challenge which was staged in July.

Money is still coming in, so this initial amount will increase for all the selected charities. Next year the Coastal Cancer Challenge will run on a the 26th July with a similar format.

All local athletes and adventure enthusiasts will be welcomed once again for this superbly run event.

The Legends were very impressed with the Letterkenny hospitality and have promised to return next year for another evening of hospitality and entertainment.

We will await that visit and hope we can ease their journey in some way as they take on the daunting challenge of their charity cycle
