Raphoe and East Donegal came out in large numbers on Friday night to welcome home double Olympian Chloe Magee.

Chloe who competed in her second Olympics in London, arrived back in her home town on Friday night and was paraded into the town centre led by the Raphoe pipe band.

She was to be greeted by one of the largest crowds ever witnessed in the Town’s Diamond.

She was joined for the homecoming by Olympic 50K walker Brendan Boyce, from Lifford who was also a member of Team Ireland in London.

Also among the welcoming party were Alan Macbeth, of the Donegal Badminton Branch, Valerie Magee, secretary of Raphoe Badminton Club, Liam Porter of Raphoe FC, Margaret McKnight, Raphoe Ladies Hockey Club, Dr. Harold Walsh, of Royal and Prior, Comprehensive School, Malcolm Thompson, of the ICSA, Graham Bell, Raphoe Bowling Club, Clr Gerry Crawford, Reverend Brian Brown and Fr. Dinny McGettigan, PP Raphoe.
