The 3rd Week of the Winter League took place at Deane’s Equestrian Centre last Sunday the 18th of January and those brave enough to venture out in the icy conditions enjoyed a great days jumping.

In the starter stakes Aoibhin Connelly in her first competition at Deanes, Sarah Molloy and Dean Burgess all riding Yankee jumped the starter stakes course and all went clear.

In the 50cm class it was was once again down to Ally McClay on Meenarillagh who picked up a lovely double clear

In the 60cm class there was only one clear round and that went to Lauren Bradley on Jayzee who . Mona Vialon Roddy and Hannah Marie Slater on Tilly were both very unlucky to have faults on the last fence.

The 70cm class saw Mona Vial on Roddy improve on her last round and go clear with a lovely round of jumps. Lucy Stewart on Dedo and Katie Long on Alaistair were once again in the rosettes with some great jumping.

The 80cm class had plenty of competition and a total of 10 riders went clear. Mona Vial on Roddy was first into the arena and she jumped yet another clear round but had to work hard to earn her clear round rosette. Kirsten Rice on Rambo jumped a great round and picked up a clear round rosette. Lauren Bradley on Lacey was next in to compete and she completed a great round to pick up a well earned clear round rosette . Charlie Vial and Conal Watters both rode strong positive rounds to take home clear round rosettes. Katie Long on Alistair was once again in the rosettes. While it was honors even in the Hunter household as brother and sister Patrick and Aine jumped great rounds.

The 90cm class saw all the riders who went clear pick up a second clear round rosette for the day. Kirsten Rice and Rambo were first in and jumped their best round of the day. Charlie Vial on Nacho were speeedy and Charlie had to concentrate hard to get around the course but were clear. Patrick Hunter was not to be out done and jumped a great round to go clear.

The Winter League continues next Sunday the 25th of January and runs for 5 more Sundays. The same horse and rider combination must compete in 4 of the next 5 Sundays in order to be eligible for prizes on the Final Day.
