The Pro-Am ohosted by Dunfanaghy Golf Club at the weekend past and it was a fantastic success.

The weather was fantastic and the course was playing beautifully. While the professionals enjoyed playing our great course, there was no runaway scores as the course lived up to the test. Well done to Paul and his staff for having the course in such great order.

The committee would also like to thank all the people who gave a hand on Thursday evening when repairing the divots. Robert Giles and Colm Moriarty came out tops with rounds of 1 under and 5 under on each day. David Higgins was second with a score of 5 under.

Our own professional Seamus McMonagle posted two rounds of 1 under and came in tied 7th. 52 teams played each day with the professionals and there was great scoring on each day. Well done to the winning team from Letterkenny made up of Odhram McGettigan, Conor McGettigan, Clive Davison and professional Gary Wardlow from American golf. Well done to Seamus Mcmonagle who lead his team to second place. See full results below.

The atmosphere around the clubhouse was brilliant all weekend. We are also delighted that our new chef, Laura Boyle has begun work at the club and everyone was complementary the fund served all weekend. It bodes well for the summer ahead. We also had music in the clubhouse on Friday night and there was a large crowd in attendance.

We have another busy weekend in the club this week with Mavis’s president prize to the ladies and Gents on this Friday. The men’s committee would like to wish Mavis the best of luck on her big Day and we hope the sun shines for all taking part. We then have the Winter Open final on Sunday and there are twenty pairs taking part in the final. We wish everyone the best of luck.

Next Monday 22nd June is our last open senior competition for the summer. Complimentary tea/coffee & biscuits will be served before golf. GUI vouchers given as prizes for both ladies & gents competitions.
