The Errigal Youth League concluded on Sunday in Churchill with Odhran Doogan winning the U12 Category outright following his win on the day. Teammate and pre-race league leader Donal Walsh had the misfortune to be caught up in a crash early on that ruled him out of the race as did Errigal’s Cathal Gallagher who took a tumble on the last lap. In the U14 race Errigal’s Conor Halvey and pre-race leader made no mistakes in claiming the overall title following his emphatic win in the sprint to claim maximum point on the day.

Other Errigal Youths winning on Race Day 4 included Errigal’s Adam McGeever (1st Unplaced U11), Amanda Gallagher (1st Girl, U12), Shauna McFadden (1st Girl, U14) and Ciara Doogan (1st Girl, U16)

The Errigal Youth League has proved extremely popular showcasing the very best in Ulster Youth cycling this and with average fields of over seventy riders throughout the four race series and large numbers spectating it has been a great addition to the Irish Youth calendar.

Presentation of the prizes including overall winner’s jerseys for took place after the event in Larkins of Newmill’s; kind sponsors of this year’s inaugural league.

Club Run for Beginners

There will be a club leisure run that is suitable for beginners leaving at 7pm on Thursday from Sweeney’s Garage in Ray, Falcaragh. Anyone who is interested in taking up cycling is invited to attend as the pace will be controlled. For more information call Paul McFadden on 0866031176.

Weekend Club Runs

Once again there is an open invitation to anyone (including youths age 10+) interested in cycling to come along on the weekend club runs, we would again encourage more to join in this week starting on Saturday from the Annagry Car Park at 10 am.
