Fermanagh rally driver Garry Jennings and his Donegal navigator Rory Kennedy are celebrating Joule Donegal International Rally success.
For Jennings, it was his second success in Donegal - he was also the winner in 2012 - while for Letterkenny man Kennedy, it was his fourth success, but first in 20 years. Kennedy’s last success was in 1995, alongside the late Bertie Fisher, also from Fermanagh.
Jennings/Kennedy in a Subaru S12B, had over a minute to spare over last year’s winners, Declan and Brian Boyle, in a Ford Fiesta WRC, in second place at the end of 20 stages and three days of rallying.
Irish Tarmac Championship leader and pre-rally favourite Donagh Kelly and Kevin Flanagan, in aFord Focus WRC, were in third place, over two minutes down on Declan and Brian Boyle.
It was a good rally for local crews. Martin Doherty from Ballybofey and Conor Foley, in a Mitsubishi EVO 9, won Group N. And local favourites Manus Kelly, from Glenswilly and Donal Barrett from Milford, in an Escort, won the National section of the rally.
