A big turnout ensured plenty of action at Deanes Equestrian Centre last Sunday. Dean Burgess kicked off the day with a clear round in his first competition in the lead rein class. Leah Ward on Pixie was clear in the Starter Stakes class with help from her assistant Stephen Green.

The 50cm class saw riders Ally McClay, Amy Green and Saoirse Doherty all picking up clear round rosettes with some good riding. The 60cm class had plenty of competition for rosettes and sisters Amy and Leigha Green on Bubbles and Beauty were the first to go clear. They were soon joined by Alannah Boyle and Saoirse Doherty on Jimmy and Buster who had to work hard for their rosettes. Sarah Taggart on Harry had a good round and picked up their first rosette in partnership.

In the pairs class it was the girls Amy and Leigha Green who once again jumped clear to take first place.

The 70cm class started well with a clear round from Lauren Bradley on Lacey and not to be out done Hannah Marie Slater on the ever reliable Ronin. Katie Long had her hands full as Alistair was full of go but she jumped a fantastic round and a clear round rosette was hers.

In the pairs class Hannah Marie Slater and Lucy took some unbelievable tight turns to go clear and they recorded the quickest time of the day.

In the 80cm class Kirsten Rice on Rambo had to work hard for her clear round rosette. Hannah Marie Slater on Ronin and Patrick Hunter on Eurolady jumped the course with ease to claim their clear round rosettes. Katie Long on Alistair picked up her second clear round of the day with another lovely round of jumps.

In the 90cm class Courtney Green on Indian Puzzle flew around the course and also picked up her second clear round rosette for the day she was joined with Patrick Hunter on Eurolady who also went clear. Andrea Gallagher on Franki jumped a super round and was delighted when she got her clear round rosette. The 1m class proved to be a bit tougher as no riders went clear all picking up some faults along the way.

Many thanks to all those who helped on the day and also to our judge Alax Deane.

Our next competitions are on the 23rd and 30th of November with Individual Clear Round and Pairs Showjumping all riders welcome.
