Superb performances by Rosses AC athletes in Gael Force North event

There were some superb performances from the North West athletes in the recent Gael Force North event. Many of our club athletes have been training since early winter with a focus on this and many made huge improvements on their times from past years. A huge well done to all and some noted performances were Elise Gillespie who finished 2nd Lady in the Sprint event with Noreen Mc Gee in 6th place. Michael Logue finished 2nd in the Sprint event with Michael Mc Elroy in 8th place. In the full event, Brian Mc Bride was 7th and he was 3rd in the V40 category, Edward Harkin 8th, Noel Diver 9th with Con Mc Geever and Liam Mac Giolla Bhríde finishing in the top 20. Michael Mc Geady, Dunlewey was 2nd in the V50 category. In the Ladies Full event great performances from Sinéad Boyle who finished 3rd and Helen Mc Cready who finished 4th. In the recent Termon 5K there was good performances from Noel Diver in 17.25, Owen Coyle in 21.31 and from Doire na Mainséar girl Niamh Mc Enhill in 21.33. At the weekend we had 2 great U-16 Relay teams who ran brilliantly in Tullamore and gained good experience at a national level.

Good luck to all our athletes who are competing this weekend in the all Ireland juvenile competition.
