The momentum is building for the 18th charity North West 10k race and walk which takes place on this Sunday in Letterkenny starting at 2.00.
Once again there is a huge interest in the event which is the start of the Donegal Grand Prix series for the serious runners.
However, the North West 10k is primarily a fun day out that caters for all age categories and is aimed at raising as much money as possible for the two main charities which this year are Letterkenny Branch of the Dyslexia Association of Ireland and the Conwal Parish Church Restoration Fund. A number of other associated charities will also benefit by their involvement with the 10k. The general public is advised that traffic restrictions will be in place for a period on Sunday afternoon to ensure the safe running of the event.
Runners can still enter on-line by going to www.northwest10k.com until this Friday evening. The 10k committee also has an office open at the Letterkenny Community Centre to take entries for runners and walkers on this evening Thursday 1st and Friday 2nd of May from 5 – 7 p.m. and on Saturday afternoon 3rd of May from 3 – 6 p.m. For further details go to www.northwest10k.com
