As the St Eunan’s College 5k looms closer, the 2013 senior men’s winner Michael Black looks back on his success of last year’s race.

This year’s race is set to start on the 10th April at 7:15pm and a big crowd is expected again this year. “The St Eunan’s 5k is a well-attended, fast course with good organisation,” he said. “The standard is everything from sub 16:50 minutes to total novices.”

The race has no set standard and anyone can run. Beginners are welcome and lots of people walk the race as well. It’s a race for everyone to enjoy.

“There were plenty of marshals and explanation of the route so it was very well planned race,” Black added. “The first half of the race was very fast and downhill. The second half was very challenging but the finish was nice. I’m looking forward to this year’s race.”

It’s €5 to enter the St Eunan’s College 5k. Also family of four is €15 or team of five is €20.
