The weeks are counting down to the final of the Winter League at Deane’s Equestrian Centre and still two riders out in front for Champion Rider.

Louise Burke on Brady Buster is now on 60 points for the Junior Champion but hot on her heels are Hannah Marie Slater on Ronin and Dara Beth McLoone on Boomerang all on 50 points.

Lucy Stewart on Dedo went clear again this week to bring her total to 60 points for the Senior Champion. Charlie Vial is her nearest competitor on 45points. There are still points to be collected in the last weeks of competition so the lead riders still need to be on their toes.

Sean Browne, Lauren Bradley and Lily Wilcox started the show with double clears in the 40cm class. Siofra Hughes on Joey in the 50cm class had a lovely double clear.

The 60cm class saw Mona Vial back in action on Roddy after a long layoff unfortunately she picked up a few faults but still had a smile on her face. Hannah Marie Slater kept up her consistent form with yet more clear round rosettes. Emma Jayne Mitchell on Dawn had great clear round and was joined by Anna McGuinness Chloe Mullins and Amy Hill in picking up a clear round rosette.

In the 70 cm class Marie Molloy on Cailin was the first to go clear. Nuala O’Donnell had to work hard to earn her clear round rosette. Chloe Mullins on Benson got her second clear round rosette of the day while Jason DeWard on Nora had a smooth round this week to go clear.

The 80cm class saw Charlie Vial on Nacho and Marie Molloy on Cailin go clear. Mother and daughter Brenda and Louise Burke brought home the rosettes to Frosses with a great double. Debbie Ramsbottom on Just like Jake powered around the course as Jake took on the course with enthusiasm and went clear. In the 90cm class only 2 riders were clear

Debbie Ramsbottom on Jake and Jayne Patterson on her classy looking horse Maddison both a bit of a handful but both jumped clear.

Congrats to Mona Vial for getting back in the saddle.

The competition will run for the next 2 Sundays with the final taking place on the 23rd February. Riders must compete in 4 of the 7weeks to be eligible for the final.
