Marlins take medals at Ulster Colleges Swimming
Last week-end students from Colaiste Cholmchille, Ballyshannon and Maghene College, Bundoran proudly represented their schools in the Ulster Swimmming Championships in Ballymena, Co Antrim.

Last week-end students from Colaiste Cholmchille, Ballyshannon and Maghene College, Bundoran proudly represented their schools in the Ulster Swimmming Championships in Ballymena, Co Antrim.

Students from Maghene College Mary Loughlin and Roise McGagh joined forces with Niamh Duffy, Heather Doyle, Emma Rooney, Laoise & Aoibhinn Gallagher, Aoibhinn McGuckin, Laura Booth, Mona McSharry, Meave Rooney, Ruby & Michael Hurst, Oisin Kerr, Tiernan McCrea, Erin McGowan, Lana Branley, Una Britton, Cian McGloin, Aisling O’Connor, Evlin Murray, Eanna O’Hara, Caolan Dolan and Roisin Maguire - all from Colaiste Cholmchille.

All students competed very well with four Colaiste swimmers - Mona McSharry, Evlin Murray, Roisin Maguire and Eanna O’Hara qualifying to the finals. Eanna acheived 3rd place in 100m Breastroke and 6th in 100m freestyle, Roisin achieved 6th place in 100m Butterfly and Colaiste Cholmchille now proudly have two Ulster Schools Champions - Mona McSharry in 100m Breastroke and Evlin Murray in 100m freestyle. Mona also took 2nd place in 200m Individual Medley.

The girls relay team- Emma Rooney, Una Britton, Roisin Maguire and Mona McSharry swam exceptionally well taking a nail biting 2nd in 200m freestyle relay and 3rd place in 200m Medley Relay.

A number of finalists will now be selected for the National Schools Swim training in Tenerife.
