Letterkenny 24/7 was excellently represented at the World Triathlon Championships in London at the weekend. The Letterkenny athletes performed well on the day with some finishing well up the rankings in the age groups.
Gavin Crawford had the race of his season with 35.12 10k, to put him well inside the top 40 in his AG, while Nick Fowell and Micky Duffy also had extremely good races, oh knocking minutes of their previous races at this distance. Aidan Callaghan and Pauric Mitchell raced well while Pauric and Margaret Kelly did very well, for people who just got off the plane from Las Vegas. Margaret was competing in the 70.3 World championships in Vegas the weekend previous and due to flight delays didn’t arrive in London until Saturday afternoon.
Paul Doherty and Cathal Roarty wrapped up the season with good performances and if they can continue at this level throughout the winter, could have their best season to date in 2014.
“The support from the crowd was amazing he whole way around the course” stated club chairman Gavin Crawford, and club members would like to thank all those people who made the journey to show their support and cheer on family members and friends.
