There was double Gold for Rosses AC’s Aidan Gillespie at the Masters Athletics Championship’s in Tullamore recently where Aidan took gold in the Long Jump with a jump of 5.84m and in the High Jump with 1.60m in difficult conditions.
This is a great achievement and deserves great credit
Well done to the Rosses U-12 Girls Relay team who were 5th in the semi final at the National Community Games Finals in Athlone. The team were Mia Mc Devitt, Melissa Mc Gee, Yvonne Byrne, Shauna Doherty.
The club will be holding a number of information evenings for all existing club members as well as anybody doing some running on their own or may be interested in joining a group of people to train.
The information evenings will be held on Monday Sept 9th in the RCS Dungloe, Wednesday 11th Sept in Pobail Scoil Gweedore and Friday 13th Sept in the hall in Mullaghduff Hall – all sessions from 9 -10pm.
The session will provide information on some training basics, overview of the club training sessions and plans from September 2013 through to March 2014
A big thanks to all who everyone who took part in the 4k in aid of the North West Cancer Support Group on a fine evening in Carrickfinn.
A total of €1253.18 was raised. On the road Noel Diver proved that he is still the man to catch with a time of 13:57.
Letterkenny Athletic Club will hold its annual general meeting on Thursday, September 5th in the Station House Hotel at 8.30 pm. All members are asked to attend to reflect on another successful year and to plan out the coming year. New members also welcome.
Ivan Toner (20:18) was the highest placed LAC runner in the Brockagh 6K on Friday night last when placing second to Finn Valley’s Gerard Gallagher (20:04). Third was Shane McNulty from Finn Valley in 20:51.
On Friday night, Milford AC will stage the annual John Kilmartin 5K. This race has a 7.30 pm start.
