Rosses AC to host Cross Country Championships this Sunday

Donegal Cross Country Championships in Mullaghderg Banks this Sunday 6th October starting with the Ladies Novice at 12 noon followed by the Mens race immediately after.

Donegal Cross Country Championships in Mullaghderg Banks this Sunday 6th October starting with the Ladies Novice at 12 noon followed by the Mens race immediately after.

The ladies team is headed by the Doherty sisters from Meenbanad Marie and Helen, Gweedore ladies Noreen Mc Gee, Maria Ní Mhaolagáin, Sinéad Boyle, Geraldine Mc Bride, Dungloe ladies Emer Magee, Cathy Breslin, Hazel Scorer, Kincasslagh ladies Sarah Mulholland, Kathleen Mc Gonagle, Elise Gillespie, Annagry ladies Deirdre Diver and Sadie Mc Devitt. The Men’s Novice race is followed by Even Ages – U-8 (born 2006/2007), U-10 (born 2004/2005), U-12 (born 2002/2003), U-14 (born 2000/2001), U-16 (born 1998/1999), U-18 (born 1996/1997).

Volunteers and help are required on Sunday with the hosting of these championships so please make yourself available to the coaches or any club member. Much appreciated.

Rosses AC are hosting the Donegal Athletics Board AGM which will take place in Ionad Teampall Cróine, Dungloe on Mon 14th October at 8pm.

 Sportshall Athletics will begin in Ionad Spóirt na Rosann at Rosses Community School on Monday 21st October from 6.45 pm to 7.50 pm. More details next week.

There was a great turnout for the recent primary schools cross country day in Carrickfinn with a total of 314 children running on the day with many having their first taste of cross country running. Belcruit school won the small schools section with Scoil Chroine in the large schools section. Many thanks to all who helped make this a successful day.
