Over sixty cyclists took part in Errigal’s inaugural Halloween Tour that left Annagry on Bank Holiday Monday morning to cycle around their choice of either the 40 mile or 20 mile routes.

This was a great turnout bearing in mind the dreadful weather in the lead up to the Monday, a great time was had by all with both groups staying together until the end.

The club would like to thank all of those who helped make the event a success and especially Sharkey’s Bar in Annagry for supplying the soup and sandwiches following the event.

Errigal hopes to run a number of events such as these with the proceeds going into club funds to be used for youth development.

Club Weekend Runs

Once again there is an open invitation to all youths (age 10+) interested in cycling to come along on the weekend club runs, we would again encourage more to join in this week starting on Saturday from the Annagry Car Park at 10 am and again on Sunday from Ramelton at 10 am.

These runs are perfectly suited to those youth (and their parents) who wish to get involved in cycling with Errigal, some of whom may have attended the sprocket rocket in Glenveagh or last summers training up in the Gweedore Industrial Estate.

These runs offer children an ideal opportunity to meet and cycle with the club’s more experienced youths with a view to getting involved in racing for Errigal next season if they so wish.

All that is required is a roadworthy (road) bike and a helmet.

The Saturday Club Training run will depart from Termon as usual at 8.00, this is suited to those riders interested in getting around that little bit faster.

A full schedule of future Sunday Club runs including detailed route maps is now available to view on the club website www.errigalcyclingclub.com.
