The finals of the Donegal Creameries Cup and Plate, U-14 Badminton Team competitions, took place in the Deele School Gym, Raphoe.

The finals of the Donegal Creameries Cup and Plate, U-14 Badminton Team competitions, took place in the Deele School Gym, Raphoe.

The finals, on Saturday 19th, provided an excellent day’s of badminton with many new faces making their first outing. Mrs Eathne Wiley, Artigarvin, was on hand to make the presentations at the end of the evening.

Donegal Creameries Cup.

In the Cup event it soon became clear it was a two horse race, as Raphoe A., defending champions, crossed the line 1st on 30 points, Greenbank A., runners up on 28 points and Three Rivers a very worthy 3rd place on 17 points.

Winners, Raphoe A. Team Captain, Chloe Lowry, Leah Darragh, Kim Laird, Leah Magee, Jack Macbeth, Jack Pearson and Thomas Darragh.

Runners up, Greenbank A. Lynne McKinley, Helena McLaughlin Kate Gourley, Cameron Wilson, Andrew Wilson and Ronan Hoy.

3rd place, Three Rivers. Emma Gallagher Sophie Lowry, Holly Long, Eleanor Knox, Aaron Knox, Aaron Wiley and Tom Eaton.

Competition in the plate event was intense as Greenbank B. on 11 points snatched the title, pushing Raphoe B. into 2nd place at 10 points. Dunfanaghy were worthy 3rd place holders on 9 points.

Runners up, Raphoe B., Amy Stewart, Zoe Stewart, Emma Dunne, Jack McConnell, Benjamin Darragh and Oran Browne.
