Amy Harkin, Ciara Doogan, Christine Russell and Orla Fogarty from Errigal are travelling to the UK next week where they will represent Ulster in the Sainsbury’s 2013 School Games.
This is a multi-sport event for the UK’s elite young athletes of school age and will this year take place in Sheffield from September 12-15.
For such a number to be picked from one club reflects greatly on Errigal’s current crop of talented youngsters and one again highlights both the quality of coaching and dedication of the youths.
Over 80 riders signed on early on Sunday morning in Arnold’s Hotel Dunfanaghy for Errigal’s ever popular Harvest Tour, with a hint of Autumn in the air and three scenic routes to choose from a great days cycling around Fanad and Sheephaven was had by all.
These tours are a great way for both club members and cycling enthusiasts in general to get together at the end of the season and enjoy n the roads through Creeslough, Kilmacrennan, Milford, Kerrykeel and onto Fanad before returning to Dunfanaghy via Carigart.
Errigal’s AGM will take place on Monday 9th September in the Criabhan Centre Termon starting at 8.30pm. All members are requested to attend; any motions and nominations must be emailed to club secretary by Sunday, September 8.
The very popular “newcomers” youth training will continue on a weekly basis, held in the Gweedore Industrial Estate on Wednesday evenings, parents are asked to be there with their children for a 6.45pm sign on with training starting at 7pm prompt.
