The Ballybofey native won gold at the European Amateur Boxing Championships in Minsk, Belarus, in June.

The Finn Valley Club member has previously won European Youth Gold in 2009 and European U-23 Gold in 2012.

Earlier this month the 22-year-old former St Columba’s College student was chosen as one of 12 Sky Sports Scholarships.

The three-year scheme will offer assistance through financial support, media training, mentoring and much more and is the latest grass roots sports initiative supported by Sky.

The championships officially begin in Almaty on October 11 and conclude on October 27.

Four Belfast boxers - London 2012 bronze medalists Paddy Barnes and Michael Conlan, as well as Sean McComb and Tommy McCarthy - have been named in the team.

Joe Ward and Ray Moylette, both ex-World Youth and European Elite champions, line out respectively at light-heavy and light-welter.
