A 10k event to provide an opportunity to those who wish to run/walk in memory of those who have passed away or indeed are presently suffering will be held November 24th.
The event will be hosted by the Finn Valley Athletic Club.
November historically and traditionally is a period which we in Ireland and indeed internationally have set aside to remember loved ones that have died.
The thinking is clearly an attempt to remember to do something meaningful to raise funds for a relevant charity of one’s choice .
Registration is 10 euro each or 30 euro for a family of four.
The venue and race /walk route is from the Finn Valley Centre, Stranorlar on Sunday, 24th November with start time of11 am.
There will be pre registration at email@example.com.
The course, which is fast and flat, takes in the scenic surrounds of Drumboe Forest returning to Ballybofey via Glenfinn Road to finish on the Valley track.
In addition to the money raised for charity, which is an individual/family decision, the registration fee goes towards underage athletics to support same and purchase sportshall equipment.
European boxing champion Jason Quigley has graciously agreed to be the event Patron.
In a way it’s a link with the past and supporting the future - a novel social event. If you plan to take part in the event then by pre-registering you are making the running of the event much easier for the organisers.
Refreshments of course will be served afterwards in the Finn Valley Centre..
