“Give it a try” is a ladies rugby promotional day, which is taking place on the 17th of August at 3pm at Donegal Town Rugby Club. I
It’s a chance to experience introductory level rugby drills and skills to help acquaint beginners with fundamentals of the sport.
There will also be food and music afterwards, so if you have ever wanted to try rugby, this is an ideal fun relaxed environment to learn the basics.
Everyone is welcome all you’ll need is a pair of boots and clothing to train in.

Tri the Lough
Saturday saw the latest instalment of the National Series in the Tyrone village of Loughnaboy.
Letterkenny 24/7’s Aidan Callaghan,was first out of the water and followed this up with a good bike but will be disappointed with his run form, finishing in third overall.
Gavin Crawford came home in sixth, a fine display when you consider he won the Army triathlon championships just a day previous on the Friday.
Michael Duffy and Nick Fowell continued their run of good form finishing just outside the top 30.
Hugh Gallagher has shown a lot of promise in this his first season in the sport. He finished just outside the top 50.
Paul and Bronagh O’Gara made a return to the racing scene after a summer break, while Brain Ward and Shaun Logue raced well, as did Martin Donnelly.
Lisa Dalton did well after a long break.
Next up for most club members will be the National Olympic Distance Championships in Dublin in two weeks’ time.
With the season drawing to a close next month, these last few races could be the difference in the battle for points at the end of September.
