The organisers of this Saturday’s Cara Bundoran Run 10 Challenge are predicting an entry of over 1,000 athletes for this weekend’s event.
Now in its third consecutive year Cara have introduced a whole new dimension to this event which has become firmly established on the Irish Athletics Calender. The event will see the introduction of a 10K challenge which will be run in conjunction with the traditional 10 mile run.
Registration, number and chip collection along with goody bag collection will be open at Magh Ene College Sportshall on Church Road tomorrow evening (Friday) from 6-9pm. Registration will also take place on Saturday morning at the same venue from 8am -10.15am. The 10 mile race for walkers starts at 10am; 10 mile runners, 11am and 10k walkers and runners, 11.30am. Meanwhile, the 17th North West 10K Road race/Walk was launched in Letterkenny on Tuesday night.
Race director, Brendan McDaid, said he was happy to confirm that the course will remain unchanged.
“There will be chip timing and pre-entry again this year,” he said. “The website is now open for entries. There will be a number of nights before the race where people can pre-register and collect their chips and t-shirts. The more pre-registrations, the easier it will be for administration,” he added.
Check in on race day will be at Letterkenny Community Centre from 10 am, with entries closing at 1 pm. Entry fee for the run is 15 euro and 10 euro for the walk.
