Blaze Basketball U14 girls dawned the court against Andersontown Tigers for their first home game of the season in Letterkenny on Sunday morning.

This game was hot on the heels of their first seasonal BNI league game away to Queens PEC on Saturday where they secured the win and showed great commitment and willingness to learn, with the majority of the girls staying on in the Loreto Convent for their usual training session when arriving back in Letterkenny.

The Blaze girls displayed a very good team performance in Queens PEC by controlling the game from the start.

On Sunday, they held the lead for long periods against Andersontown Tigers and despite a late fight-back from the visitors, Blaze held on for another victory.

Elsewhere, other weekend results saw the Blaze U14 boys travel to Queens where they came away with a win with a slim margin of 28-26.

Meanwhile, an under strength U18 boys team travelled to Ballyshannon.

Points from Ian Bagasala and P J McBrearty brought the game to within 1 point. However, Ballyshannon rallied to win 40-28.

The U16 boys were in action also against Andersonstown Tigers. In what was an extremely competitive game, the boys worked really hard and were unlucky to lose by just 2 points.
