BIG CROWDS AND FAST TIMES AT ANNUAL ST. ERNAN'S NS 5K

Thursday night's annual 5k road race and walk, organised by St. Ernan's National School in Ballintra, was another tremendous success.

Despite the odd shower, there was another great entry of participants.

Sincere thanks are extended to Martin O'Halloran for all his organisation on the night.

Thanks also to the parents and committee members who helped organise refreshments for all the runners and walkers in the school afterwards.

The first athlete home was Richard McCarthy and he was followed by Stephen Travers (2nd) and Declan McCafferty (3rd).

First junior male athlete was Conor McGloin, a student at Colaiste Cholmcille in Ballyshannon.

The first three senior women home were Julie McNamee (1st), Sharon Cunningham (2nd) and Carmel Monaghan (3rd)

The first junior female was Savannah Timony who is a 6th class pupil at St. Ernan's.
