Donegal Community Games

Entries are still being taken for a number of competitions. If your area is interested in Soccer (indoor/outdoor), Gaelic, Camogie, Handball, Choir, Debating, Talent, Chess, Draughts, u14 Quiz, Art, Cross-country and many more events why not contact a committee member. All events and rules are available on the Community Games website; also visit Donegal Community Games on facebook for updates.

In the Cross-country and Mixed Distance Relays areas are reminded that the competition is open to all competitors in the relevent age groups and the County teams will be selected on the day of the finals. These two competitons are seperate from the Co. Track and Field finals.

The Talent competition always generates a lot of interest so if your child takes part in Singing, Dancing, Music, Recitation, Choir, Comedy/Drama sketch why not take part. The ages are u12/u16. You must register through your area secretary.

Some dates have been set for the County Finals - u14 Quiz, Ballyshannon 7th April; Draughts Ballyshannon 14th April; Talent Glenswilly GAA Hall 15th April; Cross-country and Mixed Distance Relays Finn Valley 11am16th April; Art, M/Making and H/Writing Milford (Mulroy College) 1.30pm 17th April; Swimming, Letterkenny 30th April; Gaelic Football Glenswilly 7thMay; Athletics/Cycling Milford (Moyle Park) 29th May; Gymnastics, Letterkenny Community Centre 5th June; Indoor Soccer Fanad 23rd April.

All competitors must be registered in their own Area. In the Art Competition competitors in the u12, 14 and 16 age groups must choose to draw pictures from the following events - Debating, Pitch & Putt, Long Puck, Spikeball, Rugby, Discus, Quiz, High Jump, Group Music and Model Making; the u8 and u10's may draw any event. If any area wishes to enter the u16 Debating event they should contact a committee member. The Letterkenny Art, M/Making and H/Writing finals takes place in the Station House Hotel on the 10th April at 1.30pm. Competitors must supply own materials; fee €2.

Donegal Community Games are delighted to announce that Aurivo (formally Donegal Creameries) will continue to sponsor the games this year. The Creameries have been sponsoring the organisation for a good number of years and the committee appreciate their committment.

The Art, Handwriting and Modelmaking competitions takes place in the Station House Hotel this Sunday10th April at 1.30pm. The age groups are u8, 10, 12, 14, 16yrs.

Competitors supply own materials. Entry fee €2. Competitors taking in the u13 Crosscountry and the u12, u14 Relays in Finn Valley on Saturday 16th April at 1.30pm should contact the Secretary. The Talent finals takes place in the Glenswilly GAA Hall on Friday 15th April; register from 7pm so if can sing, dance, recite, play an instrument or act why not enter.
